For Sale Floor Plans for Real Estate Agents
After viewing thousands of homes on sites like Realtor.com I realized I had a problem following the photos posted on the site. I couldn’t get a good idea of the order in which the photos were taken and how the home was laid out. I thought back to all of the new home catalogs and websites that have floor plans as part of their brochure and realized that having a good clean floor plan for someone to look at while viewing the photos reinforces the understanding of the home they are viewing. I decided to create a website specifically for the purpose of offering floor plans for real estate agents.
84% of home buyers rely on the internet when searching for potential properties” NAR 2007 survey
Historic Home Floor Plan
The initial intent of forsalefloorplans.com was to provide marketing floor plans in a PDF or Jpeg format for real estate agents that could be easliy posted along with the photos as part of the online experience without the cost of a “Virtual Tour” Most virtual tours have nice video presentations or 360 view images but still do not relate this to the floor plan. Since then I have taken this a step further and am offering interactive tours which combine 360 views, video, or still photos superimposed with links on a floor plan. This combination gives the buyer an optimum understanding that is second only to being there. It converts casual viewers to prospective buyers and drives traffic to your listing.
A recent survey of consumers showed that 79% of home sellers believe that professionally produced details will help them to sell their home faster and 78% of buyers think that floor plans are essential before looking at a property. In a separate survey, agents who use floor plans also reported 26% higher commission levels than those who weren’t using them” Estate Agency News Survey – May 04
There are many more ways that floor plans and virtual tours could be used beyond the real estate sales industry:
- Event Planners could show exhibit floor plans and link in booth images.
- Homeowners can document belongings for insurance purposes.
- Resort owners can show amenities such as the pool, conference rooms, etc.
- Golf courses can provide a tour of the clubhouse to prospective members.
- Floor plans can be used to show egress routes in case of emergency.
- Document architectural projects with virtual or interactive tours.
- Business owners can provide a virtual tour of their facilities.
- Warehouses and large retail stores could provide plans to show where things are.
The possibilities are endless. Our plans can be shown in 2D or 3D, shaded or as lines, in color, or black and white. If you are interested in learning more please email me at:
